Umrah Visa from the UK

Yes. All UK citizens and British passport holders need a valid visa to enter Saudi Arabia and perform Umrah. There is no visa-on-arrival for Umrah from the UK, so your visa must be arranged before you travel. The good news is that the process is now straightforward, and when you book a package with us we take care of it for you as an authorised visa-issuing agent.

There are two main routes for UK pilgrims:

• As part of a package, through an authorised agent. When you book with Umrah Mubarak, we process the Umrah visa for you end-to-end alongside your flights, hotels and transfers — the simplest, hassle-free option.
• On your own, via the Saudi eVisa / Nusuk platform. British passport holders can apply for a Saudi eVisa online, or use the official Nusuk app to book approved service providers. This suits independent travellers who arrange their own trip.

Nusuk is the Saudi government's official platform, supervised by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, through which visas and approved providers are managed. Whichever route you choose, your visa is issued electronically and linked to your passport.

You can perform Umrah on either a dedicated Umrah visa or a Saudi tourist eVisa. The tourist eVisa is a multiple-entry visa popular with tourists that also lets you visit other parts of Saudi Arabia, see friends and family or join ziyarah packages, and it can be used for Umrah at most times of the year — though it cannot be used during the Hajj season. A dedicated Umrah visa is issued specifically for the pilgrimage and is typically valid for a limited stay.

Saudi Arabia requires all Umrah and Hajj pilgrims to have a valid meningococcal (ACWY) vaccination. You should arrange this with your GP or a travel clinic in good time before departure and keep your certificate with your travel documents. Other vaccinations may be recommended depending on your circumstances — check current NHS travel health advice before you go.

Umrah visas are usually issued quickly once your documents are in order, but processing times can be longer during busy periods such as Ramadan, so we recommend applying well in advance of your travel date. A dedicated Umrah visa is generally valid for a limited stay, while the tourist eVisa allows a longer stay and multiple entries.
