Why perform Umrah in March 2026?

For 2026, March is unlike any other month: Ramadan is expected to run from around 18 February to 19 March 2026 (subject to the moon sighting), so the first three weeks of March fall within the holy month. Performing Umrah in Ramadan carries immense reward — the Prophet ﷺ said an Umrah in Ramadan equals a Hajj in reward — which is why it is the most sought-after time of the year for this blessed pilgrimage.

Spring weather in Makkah and Madinah is mild and pleasant, and after Eid al-Fitr (around 20 March) the crowds ease and late March becomes a calmer, better-value window for those who prefer fewer people.

March 2026, the last ten nights & Eid al-Fitr

The most spiritually rewarding part of the month is the last ten nights of Ramadan — roughly the second and third week of March 2026 — when Muslims seek Laylatul Qadr, the Night of Decree. Demand for hotels close to Masjid al-Haram peaks during these nights and they sell out many months ahead.

Eid al-Fitr is expected around 20 March 2026; spending Eid in Makkah or Madinah, praying Eid salah at the Haram, is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. If you would like to travel specifically in the blessed month, see our Ramadan Umrah packages and book as early as possible.

March weather & what to pack

March is spring in Saudi Arabia, with mild, comfortable daytime temperatures (around 20–28°C) and cooler evenings. If you are travelling during Ramadan, plan your Umrah and ziyarah around the fasting hours, suhoor and iftar.

  • Ihram garments and comfortable, easy-to-remove walking footwear
  • Light, breathable clothing with a layer for cool evenings and air conditioning
  • Any regular medication, plus a refillable bottle for Zamzam water
  • A small bag for shoes at the Haram

What's included in our all-inclusive March Umrah packages

  • Return flights from the UK with carriers such as Saudia, British Airways, Qatar Airways, Emirates, Etihad and Turkish Airlines (direct and one-stop options)
  • Umrah visa processing (including guidance on the Nusuk app and eVisa)
  • Hand-picked 3, 4 and 5-star hotels — in Makkah within a few minutes' walk of Masjid al-Haram and in Madinah close to Masjid an-Nabawi, in prime locations, with Haram-view rooms available for guests
  • Airport transfers and intercity transport, including the option of the Haramain high-speed railway (Makkah–Madinah in around two hours)
  • Guided ziyarah (ziyarat) of the holy sites with an experienced Umrah guide on selected packages
  • A choice of room occupancy — twin, triple, quad and suites — with step-free access and arrangements for elderly and less-mobile pilgrims

Packages run from 7 to 14 nights. Exact inclusions vary by package — check each one above for full details.

Ziyarah and the holy sites

In Makkah you can visit Masjid al-Haram and the Kaaba, Jabal al-Nour (the Cave of Hira), Jabal Thawr, Mount Arafat and Jannat al-Mualla. In Madinah, visits include the Prophet's Mosque (Masjid an-Nabawi), Jannat al-Baqi, the Quba Mosque, Masjid al-Qiblatain and Mount Uhud. On a Saudi visa you can also arrange to visit other cities such as Jeddah and AlUla — just ask and an Umrah guide can be included on selected packages.

March Umrah packages from across the UK

We arrange March Umrah departures from airports across the UK — London Heathrow (LHR), Gatwick (LGW) and Stansted (STN), Manchester (MAN), Birmingham (BHX), Glasgow (GLA) and Edinburgh (EDI) — and also serve pilgrims in Bradford, Leeds and beyond. Browse our London, Manchester and Birmingham packages, with group, family and ladies-only options on request.

Booking your March Umrah — book early

Because March 2026 falls in Ramadan, it is the highest-demand period of the year, and the last ten nights in particular sell out far in advance. We strongly recommend booking four to six months ahead (earlier for the last ten nights and Eid). To make it easier, we offer low deposits, flexible instalment plans and early-bird offers.

If you prefer a quieter, lower-cost trip, the post-Eid window from around 20 March is calmer — tell us your preference and we'll advise on the best dates.
